Greenroom Robotics and the 75th Rolex Sydney to Hobart – Part II

What a way to finish off the year!

The Greenroom sponsored vessel with our very own James Keane aboard managed a very respectable 45 th across the line in the biggest fleet seen this century.

The crew enjoyed champagne sailing conditions to exit Sydney Harbour for a picture perfect boxing day start. The paced settled towards the end, including at least one parking lot scenario, before crossing the line in three days, two hours, thirty one minutes and nine seconds.

Not without technical problems the crew on Happy Wanderer used every facet of their training and ability under pressure to make a safe entry into the River Derwent.

Two blown out spinnakers, complete failure of the navigation system and no coffee left on the last day were some of the hurdles that had to be handled. But family, friends and a few cold ones at Customs House were the well earned rewards.

On a final note we are happy to say that the campaign managed to raise over $75 000 for the Wandering Warrior charity. This money will go towards helping retired SAS servicemen.
