Making an Impact Online

Over the last few weeks our Chief Technology Officer Harry Hubbert has been taking part in some prestigious online training initiatives. These events allowed Harry to provide students and fellow entrepreneurs with vital information about working in both the maritime technology field and a startup company in the current global environment. They were also great opportunities to promote Greenroom and the groundbreaking work that we are undertaking in the maritime technology sector.

Harry was honoured to be invited to host an online session of the Macquarie University Incubator, a supportive organisation encouraging collaboration and nurturing innovation. Here he was able to discuss methods in which Greenroom chooses its projects, how the teams are constructed and some lessons learnt from a startup growing in these uncertain times.

Hot on its tail was an appearance with the Naval Shipbuilding College at National Science Week, in the series ‘Above and Below the Surface. As part of the talk Harry was able to share his career experiences in both the Naval technology field and with Greenroom Robotics to help promote careers in science. As stated on the official program, ‘Harry has been involved in some of the most advanced technological programs in maritime autonomy and robotics’.

Finally Harry was asked to be a part of the Careers Expo at the Australian Maritime College (AMC). Held entirely online this year, Harry was able to share his experiences with maritime engineering students and provide guidance on the pathways available to them when they graduate. An added bonus of this appearance was making contact with and confirming a summer internship for a promising honours student at the AMC.
