Support Greenroom Robotics’ Operations Team

Greenroom Robotics is looking for proactive and adaptable engineers and technicians to support our Maritime Operations Team. This role will see you operate and maintain a variety of Remote and Autonomous systems and be a part of our commitment to excellence, as we drive innovation in maritime autonomy.

About the Role

As part of our team, Greenroom’s Maritime Autonomous Systems Engineers (MASE) are responsible for providing operational and technical guidance and support for Remote and Autonomous Systems (RAS) such as AUV, ROV and USVs. This role comprises both onshore and offshore duties to maintain and operate autonomous systems in support of mission outcomes. You will be a proactive problem solver with a trade or engineering background with exceptional attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to anticipate needs in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operating Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUV) for offshore tasks.
  • Collaborating with project teams to plan and execute operations required by the scope of work
  • Provide written advice relating to RAS & AI systems, data, and sensors.
  • Adhering to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct maintenance and operation of AUV equipment, in accordance with policies and processes.
  • Communicate risks, challenges, and capabilities with a range of stakeholders.
  • Support the operational team with technical advice and considerations through system preparations, tests, trials, and deployments.
  • Assist with managing RAS assets for testing, customer operations, and demonstrations.
  • Assist with managing data, equipment, logistics, and services required to support operations; including interfacing with vessel service providers, and maintaining facilities and tools required to support operations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to autonomous systems.
  • Bring a unique perspective to a highly functioning development team to solve complex system engineering challenges.

  • A detail-oriented and proactive individual with a technical or engineering background.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ensuring clarity in all interactions.
  • Discretion and professionalism when handling client information.
  • An offshore / maritime background.

Required Qualifications / Experience

  • Formal Technical or Engineering qualifications in a relevant field, such as Electrical / Electronics, Networking or Communications.
  • Knowledge and experience with networking
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Time-management skills and the ability to organize and coordinate multiple tasks.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc).
  • Aptitude for learning new software and systems.
  • Flexible team player, willing to adapt to changes and take on challenges.
  • Be customer orientated, “service minded,” and focused on quality
  • AGSVA Security Clearance (or willingness to obtain).

Desired Qualifications / Experience

  • Experience Maritime / Offshore industry.
  • Experience in AUVs / ROVs.
  • Experience in Acoustic Communications.
  • Experience with commissioning, test and maintenance of electronics or mechanical systems.
  • Experience with network setup and installation/test of system software
  • Strong ability to anticipate needs and proactively solve problems.
