Led by Invest and Trade Western Australia, the mission brought 11 of the State’s top technology companies to one of the world’s most prominent events for technology, creativity and business. Over nine days, SXSW connected thousands of global investors, entrepreneurs and industry leaders, providing a powerful platform to showcase Western Australia’s capabilities to the world.

Global Growth Accelerator Program

The visit formed part of the Global Growth Accelerator Program (GGAP), an initiative designed to fast-track the international expansion of Western Australian companies working in critical technology, energy and advanced industries.

Through the program, participants had access to:

  • Virtual capability-building sessions on U.S. market entry, funding pathways and government procurement
  • One-on-one mentoring with U.S. industry experts to refine go-to-market strategies
  • An in-market immersion program in Austin, including attendance at SXSW 2025

Building Connections in the U.S.

While in Austin, the delegation took part in tailored sessions and site visits, gaining first-hand insight into the U.S. innovation landscape. Highlights included visits to:

  • Defence Innovation Unit, a U.S. Department of Defence organisation focused on adopting commercial and dual-use technology
  • Firefly Aerospace, the first commercial company to successfully land on the moon
  • ICON Builds, specialists in 3D-printed home construction
  • Atlassian’s Austin campus, a showcase of global growth from an Australian-based software company

Delegates also attended sessions on funding strategies, dual-use innovation under AUKUS and investment considerations for U.S. market entry.

Looking Ahead

For Greenroom Robotics, SXSW created opportunities to build lasting relationships, share our approach to maritime autonomy, and position Western Australia as a hub for defence, security and critical technology.

We are excited to build on this momentum as we continue to expand our presence in international markets.
