AUKUS in Action: MARS + Greenroom Signal Next-Gen Naval Interoperability

In a time where speed, adaptability, and integration are critical to maritime dominance, SubSea Craft’s MARS platform sets a new benchmark. At its core lies Greenroom Robotics’ autonomy and perception software.
Unveiled this month, MARS isn’t just another uncrewed surface vessel. Designed with end-user input for specific mission profiles, built in the UK, proven in Australia and the US, MARS embodies the spirit of AUKUS; fast, interoperable, and mission flexible. At the heart of this capability is Greenroom’s autonomy stack, combining GAMA and Lookout+ to deliver real-time situational awareness and intelligent decision-making.
In the video below, MARS showcases its 360-degree visual awareness, a sensor array of onboard cameras providing a full picture of the vessel’s environment. These feeds are processed through Lookout+, Greenroom’s AI perception engine, which identifies objects of interest such as nearby vessels or maritime hazards. Once detected, these objects are geolocated and passed to GAMA, giving the platform a spatial understanding of its environment exceeding that of a human operator scanning the horizon.
This software-driven perception eliminates the need for radar, enabling a fully passive solution that supports stealth and modularity. Lookout+ is intelligent, low-profile, and built for the edge.
GAMA orchestrates the vessel’s autonomy: fusing inputs, making decisions, and executing behaviours, all through modular & platform-agnostic architecture. Whether it’s persistent ISR, counter-UxS, or dynamic asset deployment, the system is ready to adapt.
This collaboration with SubSea Craft demonstrates what's possible when agile engineering meets cutting-edge autonomy software. It’s not just about faster delivery, it’s about delivering the right capability faster, smarter, and more connected.
