Empowering Tomorrow’s Engineers

At Greenroom Robotics, we value the opportunity to support emerging engineering talent by partnering with the Sydney University Women in Engineering Society (SUWIE) and the Sydney University Mechatronics Organisation (SUMO).

With many of our staff having graduated from The University of Sydney, this collaboration is particularly meaningful. These partnerships reflect our commitment to fostering engineering talent and maintaining strong connections with institutions that have shaped the careers of many of our team members.

Supporting SUWIE & SUMO

SUWIE provides a supportive community for female-identifying engineering students, aiming to empower them throughout their academic and professional journeys. Greenroom Robotics values the opportunity to contribute to their mission of fostering diversity in STEM and helping the next generation of engineers thrive. Reflecting on this partnership, SUWIE’s President Mia Kloiser-Jones shared:

"Our partnership with Greenroom Robotics helps to support SUWIE’s mission of building an inclusive engineering community where female-identifying students are empowered to lead, innovate and thrive. Through this partnership with Greenroom Robotics, we aim to provide our members with invaluable opportunities for professional growth, industry insights, and mentorship, equipping them to succeed in their academic and professional journeys."

Similarly, SUMO works to provide mechatronics students with a tight-knit community, offering fun events, valuable industry exposure, and peer support. Greenroom Robotics looks forward to supporting their efforts in creating opportunities for students to explore practical applications of mechatronics and robotics. Tom Waters, the President of SUMO expressed:

"Bridging the gap between students and industry has always been the primary goal of SUMO. Our partnership with industry leader Greenroom Robotics connects students with the future of engineering, providing hands on opportunities that prepare them to tackle real-world engineering challenges with confidence and curiosity."

These clubs give students invaluable opportunities to engage with technical challenges, grow their skills, and connect with supportive networks. By working with SUWIE and SUMO, Greenroom Robotics aims to help students explore these opportunities and prepare for the demands of a rapidly evolving industry.

Connecting Students to Industry

As a company working at the forefront of robotics and autonomy, Greenroom Robotics understands the importance of bridging the gap between academic learning and industry application. By partnering with SUWIE and SUMO, we aim to share insights from our work in the maritime and robotics sectors, helping students better understand how their knowledge can be applied to solve real-world challenges.

Through events, workshops, and mentorship opportunities organised by SUWIE and SUMO, students gain valuable practical exposure that complements their academic pursuits. Greenroom Robotics is excited to support these initiatives, which also provide us with the opportunity to engage with students’ fresh ideas and unique perspectives.

Building on Shared Foundations

Our connection with these universities runs deep. Many Greenroom Robotics staff members began their engineering journeys at these institutions, developing the skills and experiences that have driven their careers. Supporting SUWIE and SUMO is a natural extension of this connection, allowing us to contribute to the growth of students following similar paths.

By working together with these organisations, we aim to strengthen the pipeline of skilled engineers into the industry and support a culture of innovation and excellence in engineering education.

Making It Happen Together

Greenroom Robotics is proud to partner with SUWIE and SUMO to support students as they prepare to enter the engineering workforce. These partnerships represent an investment in the future of engineering and a shared dedication to fostering growth and opportunity.

We encourage students to connect with SUWIE or SUMO to find out about events and opportunities to engage with Greenroom Robotics.
