Greenroom Robotics recently ventured to South Korea for the 2023 Seoul International Aerospace and Defense Exhibition (ADEX), the leading expo in Northeast Asia for aerospace and defense. ADEX sets the stage for the latest industry advances and conversations. Held biennially, the exhibition is a collaborative effort among the Korea Aerospace Industries Association (KAIA), the Korea Defense Industry Association (KDIA), and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA). Known for its broad display of cutting-edge aircraft and ground equipment, Seoul ADEX also features engaging static displays and demo flights. This year's event, hosted at Seoul Airport from October 17th to 19th, continued its legacy as a focal point of global aerospace and defense innovation.

It was within this context of innovation and global industry leadership that Greenroom Robotics was invited to join the esteemed Australian industry delegation at ADEX 2023. Alongside Defence Australia, the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade), and the Korea Defense Industry Association, we at Greenroom Robotics had the honor of representing Australia's maritime technology sector. The objective was to deepen industrial cooperation, explore future projects, and tap into collaborative ventures with innovators from around the world.

Our participation in the event included significant interactions with South Korean leaders, highlighting the Republic of Korea's interest in investing in advanced technologies such as additive manufacturing, artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, and big data analytics. As a company that thrives in these areas, we were eager to join the mission and demonstrate how our expertise aligns with these investment interests.

Our Chief Technology Officer, Harry Hubbert, took the lead in these critical discussions. Reflecting on the event, he noted the collective drive of ADEX 2023:

"Participating in the delegation to Korea alongside 19 other Australian enterprises presented a valuable opportunity to investigate the export potential of Australian products and explore avenues for the integration of Korean-manufactured goods. Throughout the four-day mission, Greenroom Robotics engaged in discussions with prominent industry figures and successfully conducted 14 business-to-business meetings. We commend the exceptional support provided by Austrade staff, whose expert facilitation and guidance empowered Australian companies to maximise the benefits of this opportunity."

ADEX 2023 was an invaluable opportunity that aligned well with our mission at Greenroom. We engaged in key conversations, contributed to the industry's growth, and explored new collaborations focused on enhancing maritime safety and efficiency. Inspired by the connections forged and the partnerships on the horizon, we are eager to continue pushing the boundaries of maritime technology. We look forward to participating in future global gatherings to share, learn, and help shape a safer, smarter maritime world.
